The top ranking writer in Kannada literature, en eloquent speaker and offbeat Kannada film director Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa has been selected for 2011 Pampa Prashasti.

Awards are not new to Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa. He has a series of awards to his kitty. It does not make much of a difference to this practical man Prof Baraguru.

The state government award ‘Pampa Prashasti’ consist of Rs.3 lakhs of rupees, citation and a trophy. Dharwad sculptor VG Hire Gowdar for ‘Varnashilpi Venkatappa award’ and dance Guru Lalitha Srinivas have been selected for ‘Shanthala Natya Prashasti’ according to government of Karnataka Kannada and culture department.
